Barkbusters manufactures the guards using genuine hand-laid carbon fibre and finishes the surface with a UV-stable gloss-coated resin, helping maintain the carbon appearance during regular exposure and road use. Their sleek profile is intended to complement street, cruiser, naked, touring and adventure motorcycles without the bulk of larger off-road-focused handguards. The guards provide coverage around the rider's hands and motorcycle controls, making them particularly useful where wind protection is desired. Installation requires a compatible Barkbusters mounting arrangement. The CARBON Guards can be fitted to Barkbusters aluminium backbones except the EGO backbone and are also compatible with suitable Barkbusters single-point mount applications. This product should therefore be treated as a guard set rather than a complete motorcycle-specific handguard kit. The appropriate backbone or mounting hardware must already be installed or purchased separately according to the motorcycle application. Barkbusters specifically states that the CARBON Guards are not recommended for off-road applications. The package provides a left and right carbon-fibre guard along with the applicable guard mounting components and fitting instructions.
